Professional Lot & Land Clearing in Cincinnati
Turn Overgrown Ground into Usable Land
When Overgrowth Becomes an Obstacle
An overgrown back acre, a creeping fence line, or a buildable lot buried in brush — no matter the cause or result, land that’s no longer working for you doesn’t have to stay that way.
Priority Tree handles lot and land clearing across Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky for homeowners, developers, contractors, and rural property owners. We bring in the equipment most tree services don't have to clear ground efficiently and leave it ready for whatever comes next.
Common Land Clearing Projects We Take On
Land clearing means different things on different properties. Here's where we do most of our work:
Residential Lot Clearing
Clearing back overgrown sections of a residential property — woods that have crept into the yard, brush along a fence line, deadfall in a back section, or a buildable area being prepped for a pool, addition, or outbuilding. Most residential jobs can be done in a day or two.
Commercial & Development Site Prep
Site prep for new construction, lot clearing for builders, and full-property clearing for development projects. We coordinate with your timeline, work alongside your other contractors, and handle the permits where they apply.
Selective Clearing & Thinning
Not every clearing job means clearing everything. We can selectively remove smaller trees and underbrush while leaving mature trees in place. The result is a cleaner, more usable wooded area without losing the trees that make a property unique.
Fence Lines & Right-of-Way Clearing
Years of growth along a property line, fence row, or utility easement can take over a property if it's left alone. We clear it back in a single pass and leave the line clean.
Trails, Hunting Land & Recreational Property
For rural and recreational properties, we clear trails, food plots, hunting blinds, and overgrown sections. Forestry mulching keeps the work fast and turns the cleared material into ground cover on the spot — no debris pile and no haul-out.
Invasive Brush & Honeysuckle Removal
Honeysuckle, autumn olive, and other invasive shrubs take over Cincinnati woodlands quickly. We clear them out in one pass with forestry mulchers — far faster than cutting and dragging and without leaving a debris pile behind.
Land clearing projects vary widely in size, access, vegetation, and end goals. Tell us about your property and we'll recommend the best approach.
Our Approach to Land Clearing
The right approach depends on what's on the ground, what's going underneath it later, and what you want to keep. Most of our clearing work falls into two methods:
Forestry Mulching
Forestry mulching uses a heavy-duty grinding head that is mounted on an excavator or skid steer to chew through trees, brush, and undergrowth in a single pass. The cleared material gets ground into mulch and left on-site, which means no hauling, no burn piles, and no disposal costs. It's the fastest, cleanest way to clear small to mid-sized trees and dense brush.
Mechanical Clearing
For larger trees, jobs that need to leave bare earth, or projects where the cleared material has to come off the property entirely, we use a combination of excavators, dozers, and grapple trucks. Trees come down, stumps come out, and debris gets hauled to a local mulch processor.
Most projects require a combination of both — mulching the dense brush, removing the larger trees mechanically, and grading the ground if the next step is construction.
Built Around Your Goals

What It Takes to Clear Land Right in Cincinnati
The difference between a good clearing job and a rough one shows up in the finished result. Here's what goes into ours:
Equipment Built for the Work
We match the equipment to the project: forestry mulchers for dense brush and small-to-medium trees, dozers for larger clearing, and grapple trucks when debris has to leave the property. That kind of range keeps jobs moving and costs predictable.
Arborist On-Site
For selective clearing and thinning projects, we carefully consider which trees should be removed and which should remain. The goal is to improve the property while minimizing unnecessary stress or stability issues for the trees you’re keeping.
Regulatory Awareness
Land clearing projects can be affected by local regulations, environmentally sensitive areas, and seasonal restrictions related to protected wildlife. We're familiar with the requirements that commonly impact clearing projects and can help identify any considerations that may affect your timeline.
Permit Coordination
For projects that require permits, we help identify what's needed and assist with the application process. Some areas in our service region have tree quantity requirements or designated green space rules — we know where those apply.
Locally Owned, Cincinnati Based
Priority Tree is locally owned and based in Milford. Your clearing project is managed by our local team from the initial quote through completion, so you have clear communication and accountability throughout the job.
